An area's culture includes the arts, heritage, history, and humanities. A cultural heritage inventory will identify the people, places, and organizations that are significant and unique to your community. It becomes a living and constantly growing record of a community's cultural and heritage assets.

Used as an online directory, visitors and local citizens, including students, can learn about the history and culture in the community, review information about historic places, events, read and hear stories by and about local people.

The data and information generated from a cultural heritage inventory can also be made available to local government officials for land use planning and conservation efforts.  In addition, information from the project can be provided to partner organizations to enhance their local and regional environmental, economic development, and marketing efforts.
